Kindles - the Perfect Work and Play Tool for Students
Gone are the days of students carrying around rucksacks full of heavy text books – we are now in the age of laptops and digital tables and of course the Kindle!
You may not be aware that the Kindle device is not only for reading books, but also has a feature inbuilt for you to email those all important documents. It is a single handheld device that contains everything a student needs and if you are a technological wizard you can use a programme that converts PDF files to the easier to read MOBI format.
You can select different Kindles to suit your needs: Standard, Touch, Touch 3G and Keyboard 3G. 3G is a wireless feature, meaning you have your own Internet access to download whatever you need with no need for a computer – this is especially handy if you are moving around campus.
The pages of the device are specially made to be easily read just as a paperback book would be, even in sunlight, unlike iPads or android tablets which can be impossible to view outdoors.
Kindle's are ideal when studying with built in dictionaries (English Oxford and American) and the capacity to highlight and share passages, just as you would with a text book, and with the newer versions of Kindle you can also receive audio files and transcribe text to speech. Once you've finished a book, you can also share it via Facebook or Twitter to let your friends know what you've been reading.
With a battery life of up to two months and weighing only 200 grams, the Kindle is the perfect student accessory. Indeed, it can surf the net, allow you to read and research on the move, and download and send files. There’s really nothing this fantastic machine can’t do.
